Julie is the Director of the Biomechanics Research Laboratory at University of Wollongong, Australia.

For the past 37+ years, her research has focused on developing innovative strategies, based on applied biomechanics, to decrease injury potential and optimize quality of life for individuals across the age spectrum.

She was recently appointed a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia (General Division), for significant service to science in the field of biomechanics, to higher education, and to professional associations.
